HOYINN(HUAILAI) Technology Industrial Campus was Awarded the 5A Certification of Carbon Neutral Data Center Leader by ODCC

Recently, HOYINN(HUAILAI) Technology Industrial Campus won the highest level AAAAA (planning) certification of “DC-Tech Data Center Low-carbon Level Assessment (Carbon Neutrality, Carbon Emission Reduction)” and ”Carbon Neutral Data Center Leader” jointly issued by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the Press and Publicity Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Open Data Center Committee (ODCC).

Based on the national strategy, combined with the industry operation situation and market demand, Hoyinn has deeply built a linkage model of “new computing power business cluster + green energy business cluster”, and won the honor of low-carbon data center leader” this time, which is also an important embodiment of the value of this linkage model being highly recognized by the industry.


Full life cycle design to achieve deep collaboration of source, grid, load and storage

 

Hoyinn has always pursued the concept of “zero carbon”, deeply developed and implemented the “integration of source, grid, load and storage”, and is committed to building a green computing power cluster based on the renewable energy demonstration zone, creating an innovative integrated system of “green energy supply + green energy use” and a green digital economy industrial ecological chain, so as to realize the integrated development of renewable resources and digital economy with resource sharing and complementary advantages.

 

As a demonstration area, HOYINN(HUAILAI) Technology Industrail Campus has an overall long-term plan from site selection and construction to long-term market operation in the future, and firmly implements the concept of “source, grid, load and storage integration”. With the application of advanced technology and innovative power production and consumption mode, the campus realizes the deep synergy of source, grid, load and storage. The construction of a new energy power station in Zhangjiakou, with high-quality wind and solar resources, relying on 2.78GW of wind and solar power generation resources, can add about 6.06 billion kWh of renewable energy electricity per year. While promoting the greening of energy in the campus, the data center is equipped with an independent 110kV active distribution network to comprehensively improve the controllability of power resources. And build an energy storage unit on the load side, through the deep coordination and real-time interaction of source, grid, load and storage, and finally realize the real-time balance between the power generation side and the energy measurement, and effectively improve the consumption capacity of regional new energy power.

 

Develop advanced technology, improve efficiency and reduce consumption to implement national standards

The Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Construction of Green Data Centers issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in January 2019 states that by 2022, the PUE value of new large-scale and ultra-large data centers nationwide must reach less than 1.4. Hoyinn  has developed a set of multi-dimensional and efficient energy-saving technologies, and continuously optimizes the indicators of high-energy, low-consumption systems and green low-carbon standards. The new data center management system bids farewell to the redundancy and disorder of the traditional data center management system, and ensures the long-term stable, safe, fast, green and low-carbon sustainable operation of the campus.


Self-built power stations will effectively increase the self-sufficiency capacity of renewable energy, become an important means for enterprises to increase the proportion of renewable energy, and maintain the safe and stable operation of the power grid and increase the capacity of new energy consumption by configuring an energy storage system with a certain capacity. All power facilities in the campus are connected by the Internet of Things, based on efficient interconnection and flexible interaction, to realize the transformation  . Based on the analysis, eva1uation and diagnosis of energy data, we provide a customized load management system, and build a comprehensive energy service system including waste heat reuse, photovoltaic power generation, water and ground source heat pumps, hydrogen fuel cells, charging piles, etc.

In addition to changing the high-carbon operation mode of traditional data centers, the low-carbon ecology around Hoyinn is of greater significance to provide high-value solutions for the low-carbon emission reduction needs of governments and enterprises, empower various industries, and provide feasible solutions and standards for China's carbon neutrality path to go international. In the future, Hoyinn will continue to deepen the development of low-carbon energy-saving technologies and carbon neutral services in data centers, and contribute to the sustainable development of society.
